Adapter to Fit Yakima PowderHound Ski Rack To Factory Cross Bars On 2012 Ford Expedition
Question:
I need a new adapter to fit my 2001 era Yakima Powder Hound ski racks to the 2012 Ford Expedition Factory cross bars. The cross bar adapters that came with the Yakima Powder Hound is not large enough to fit the Ford cross barswhich is just a bit too long, front to back. Will these, or something similar allow me to attached my Powder Hounds to the Ford factory cross bars?

To get your PowderHound mounted to your 2012 Ford Expedition with factory cross bars you can use Universal MightyMounts for Yakima Roof Mounted Accessories # Y03590. The mount is specifically designed for situations just like yours, it allows you to adapt most Yakima carriers to almost any factory roof rack cross bars.
One thing you will want to check is that the factory crossbars must not be more than 4" wide or 1-1/2" tall for these mounts to work.
I linked the mounts and instructions for you to check out.
