Recommended Height and Fore/Aft Setup of B&W BWRVK3305 Companion on 2017 Ford F350 Dually

Question:

I have recently purchased a 2020 395M Momentum and i am planning on purchasing the BWRVK3305, my question is on setup as I will be doing this myself without having the camper in front of me what is the best setup to go with? I am thinking the the pivot arms should be set in the forward position 3inch in front of the axles and in the medium height. I have a stock 2017 F350DRW.

When adjusting the arms of the # BWRVK3305, you have the option of setting up so the king pin will sit 3 inches forward or 1 inch forward of the axle. I'd set it up at the tallest height, 18-3/4 inches above the floor of the truck bed and 1 inch forward so the pin weight is almost centered over the rear axle.

You can actually perfectly dial in the height if you're willing to do a little measuring. Put your 5th wheel up on the landing gear so that it's as close to level as you can get it. Record that height from the underside of the pin box (the part that rides on the skid plate of the hitch, not the underside of the king pin). Then, measure from the ground up to the floor of the truck bed. Not the tailgate, but the floor of the bed. If you add 16-3/4 inches, you'll be at the lowest height setting of the hitch. Add 17-3/4 to the floor height, you'll be at medium or add 18-3/4 inches to the floor height, you'll be at the highest setting. The idea is to get the hitch height as close as possible to the level height of the pin box. You'd rather be a little nose high than low, and you really want to see at least 5 inches of clearance between the top of the bed sides and the underside of the 5th wheel loft.

I've linked you to a product description video that explains the features of the hitch as well as to a video showing the hitch being installed on a 2019 F350.
