Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brakes Only Work with Manual Override
Question:
I installed a Prodigy P# brake controller on a 1994 Ford F350. The brakes work very will with the manual override but do not work with the brake pedal. The troubleshooting options indicates that I am getting stoplight volts of 0.1 to 0.4 volts when the pedal is depressed. That would indicate I am getting some volts from the brake pedal but is this not enough to activate the brakes? What should I be getting for stoplight voltage?

You should be getting close to 12v coming from the stop light switch, so it sounds like you either have a bad connection, or are not on the correct circuit. I recommend disconnecting this connection and searching for the correct wire where when the brake pedal is pressed, you receive close to 12v. You will want to use a multimeter like the # PT89ZR to conduct this test. Once you've located the correct wire, you'll want to re-attach and test everything out again to confirm that it is working correctly.
I have also linked one of our help articles on troubleshooting brake controllers that provides a good resource when it comes to general installation of a brake controller.
If you can verify that you're tapped into the correct wires and that your connection is good, please let me know and I will run through a couple of other steps you can go through to get your brake controller functioning.
