What Will Prevent Movement/Noise in 1-1/4 inch Hitch

Question:

Hi I am looking for a solution to reduce the loud noise I’m hearing between my hitch receiver and hitch ball. I already have eliminated noise and vibration in the other areas with a hitch stabilizer but my hitch ball and receiver are making noise when the trailer and car go over a bump causing the tilt and loading of the suspension. Could I buy a nylon cover like this and put it on of the hitch ball to dampen this loud clanking annoying noise? It’s for my car - a 2013 Toyota Prius V towing a harbor freight trailer. It’s set up with a 1 1/4” hitch and ball. Thank you!

Sounds like what you are looking for is a hitch anti-rattle system. This will eliminate the movement between the hitch opening and your ball mount which will then stop the noise you are hearing.

With two products, we can get this done. We have the part # e98997 for a hitch lock but would only work if your ball mount has a hollow shank. Then add the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch part # RM-061-125 will remove the rattle regardless of if the shank is hollow or solid but does not feature a lock. I attached a review video for more info on this as well.

There isn't a nylon or rubber hitch ball cover that would reduce the movement or shock. Even if there was an attempt to make something like that it would cause the ball to be too large to fit into the coupler and then wouldn't prevent the root cause of the movement anyway.
