The Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-, 5- and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM48470 that you referenced is a universal 7-way that can basically fit any vehicle as you'd just need to attach the wiring of the vehicle to the correct pins on the 7-way. That said it wouldn't be my first choice for your 2005 Dodge Ram since there's an easier to install option with the # HM42190. This installs much simpler by just plugging into the square connector present at the rear of your truck so it's what I would recommend for you.
