Does 2015 Chevy Express Van Need 4-Way or 7-Way Connector to Tow Travel Trailer

Question:

I have a 2015 Chevy Express van. All I will be towing is an RV travel trailer. Do I need to install a 4 pin wiring with a 7 pin wiring? Thank you.

Most RV travel trailers have brakes so you'd need to install a 7-way on your 2015 Chevy Express Van to allow the brakes to be activated. If your travel trailer only has a 4-way connector though you'd be fine just to install a 4-way with the # 118496. Now if your trailer has brakes and you need an easy 7-way and brake controller solution the best setup is the Curt Echo Mobile brake controller # C51180 with the 7-way upgrade kit part # ETBC7L which comes with everything needed to convert to a 7-way easily. Basically you'll plug in the 4-way of the # 118496 to the 7-way adapter and then run the included wire up to the vehicle battery and your set.

The brake controller installs super easily too as it only requires you to plug it into the 7-way and once synced to your smart phone is ready to go.
