Roof Rack for 2019 Mazda CX-5 with Naked Roof to Carry Two Kayaks

Question:

Want a rack to haul 2 kayaks thats easy to take on and off the roof w/o!! tools. Have had Yakima racks since I began kayaking in 1993 that clamped on with a kind of lever system that locked in place. Current systems seem to be semi permanent installed.

So we do have some options for you, but all of the roof racks for your 2019 Mazda CX-5 with a naked roof do require at least a torque tool to take on and off. Additionally, since you have a naked roof, there isn't going to be a rack that is going to be easy to take on and off - they will all require specific measurements for crossbar placement every time you want to do put the rack back on. None of the racks are permanent or semi-permanent installs, but they should be left on.

I can tell you from experience that the easiest roof rack for your 2019 Mazda CX-5 to take on and off is the Thule WingBar EVO, which consists of Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420 (Black) or # TH711400 (Silver), Evo Clamp Feet # TH710501 and Fit Kit # TH145079. The reason for this is that you'll know when the torque on the roof rack's is correct due to the audible click that you'll hear when torquing it.

With this you'll need a kayak carrier for a pair of kayaks, the Thule Compass Kayak and SUP Carrier w/ Tie-Downs # TH890000 is the best option because it is simple to use and comes with the needed tie-downs for both kayaks, saving you any additional expenses. I've added links to video reviews for you to check out as well.
