Comparing Trailer Hitches for a 2019 Mazda CX-5
Question:
Can you tell me what the differences are between the hitches for my 2019 Mazda CX-5? They all kind of look the same to me and I just want to make sure that I'm making a good choice.

I'd be happy to help you decide on a trailer hitch for your 2019 Mazda CX-5!
The first thing to note is that there are trailer hitches with a 1-1/4" receiver and hitches with a 2" receiver. You definitely want to go with a 2" receiver because it opens up the opportunity to use a wider variety of accessories with the hitch. With that being said, there are 3 options for your vehicle; the etrailer.com # e98902, the Curt # C13315, and the Draw-Tite # 76138.
All 3 options exceed the weight rating for your CX-5, they all have a hidden crosstube, plus they all have the same level of difficulty when it comes to the installation. This means that it really boils down to the style of the trailer hitch and how it looks once installed. Because of this I recommend the etrailer.com hitch # e98902 over the other 2 options because it has a matte black powder coat finish. The matte black finish serves a dual purpose; it matches the finish on a lot of newer vehicles so it looks more OEM than the glossy black finish of the other options, plus it does a much better job at hiding scratches and dents from road debris than the glossy finish.
Attached is a sample installation and some pictures of this trailer hitch on a 2016 Mazda CX-5 so you can get a good idea of what the finished product looks like. If you let me know what you plan on using the trailer hitch for I can make additional recommendations if necessary.
