Cargo Carrier with Angled Shank to Clear Exhaust Outlet for 2011 Dodge Durango
Question:
I have a 2011 Durango and am concerned about heat transfer snce the exhuast exits directly out the passenger rear and the cargo would be exactly at that height. Is there a cargodeck with a 3inch raised offset?

The etrailer Folding Cargo Carrier, part # e98874 will raise the platform of the carrier 2 inches above the top of the 2 inch receiver. It also extends the carrier 19-1/2 inches away from the hitch pin hole. The distance from the hitch pin hole in your receiver to the furthest rearward point of your rear bumper will need to be less than 9-1/2 inches in order for the carrier to fold.
In addition to using a carrier with a raised shank, you can use an exhaust tip that directs the exhaust to the side or actually have a muffler shop bend the tail pipe so that it exits at the side of the truck behind the rear wheel.
