Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Where Running Lights and Stop Lights Don't Work

Signal lights work, but running and brake lights dont.

Typically what you described indicates is a weak ground on the trailer wiring. The running lights and brake lights draw quite a bit more amperage than the running lights so if you have an insufficient ground the higher drawing circuits will be what stops working first.
You can check the main ground harness of the trailer wiring to make sure it's connected to a clean metal surface as that's typically the issue. I also attached a help article on trailer wiring troubleshooting for you to check out as well.
