Solution for Attempting to Install Fulton XLT Winch on Trailer Where Mounting Plate Doesnt Match Up

Question:

I bought the Fulton winch XLT and it doesn't fit on my Road King Trailer plate. The holes on the product did not fall or fit in place with the plate already on the trailer. When I put the two bolts on the back dont line up exactly correct, they bolts are on an angle that if I screw them, they will bend or brake. it looks like the bolt's holes or the plate on the Fulton F2 are not wide enough to fit and fall in place on the holes that are already on my road king trailer. Please any advice. I like the product but before I start to look into drilling into my road king trailers plate, I would like to see if I am doing something wrong with the alignment or if there is any other option without spending more money. Please any advice will be greatly appreciated.

The Fulton XLT Winch part # F142425 was designed to fit most winch mounting plates but it sounds like yours has holes that are just not totally compatible. Best option would be to drill new holes on your plate to allow the winch to fit without having any of the bolt holes angled. You'll want to drill new holes far enough away from the old holes so that there isn't any mounting plate strength compromised.
