It really depends on the loaded weight of the Jayco eagle if the 2012 Honda Pilot can safely tow it. I took a look at the owner's manual for the 2012 Honda Pilot and the maximum trailer weight depends on the amount of occupants in the vehicle and if the Honda Pilot is 4WD or 2WD. I have attached a couple of charts from the owner's manual regarding weight but I recommend to take a look at your copy because it does mention other helpful tricks about how to measure your weight at a public scale with the Honda Pilot. You also want to be sure not to exceed the gross vehicle weight rating of the Pilot which is 9,579 lbs for the 4WD model and 8,466 lbs for the 2WD that includes the weight of he occupants, cargo, curb weight of the Pilot itself and trailer. Also the gross vehicle weight rating is reduced by 2 percent for every 1,000 feet of elevation.

If you need wiring on the Honda Pilot to tow the trailer with brakes, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way Trailer Connector part # 118265 which will give you a fully functional 7-way on the Pilot. For the brake controller I recommend the Curt Echo part # C51180 which is the easiest brake controller option because you can use your smart phone to control the settings. It plugs into the 7-way and uses an internal sensor to determine when the vehicle is braking and activate the trailer brakes. I have attached a video for your reference.
