The 2004 Dodge Ram pickup would use the # 3020-P brake controller wiring adapter, which is the same one used by the 2008 model. The connector will be located pretty near where the one in the 2008 model is. The connector is blue in color, and is either above or alongside of the white junction box mounted to the firewall under the dash behind the emergency brake pedal.
Keep in mind, that connector will only be present if the truck is equipped with the factory 7-way trailer connector. If the truck doesn't have a 7-way, you'll need to hardwire in your controller using our Brake Controller Install Kit, part # ETBC7. The truck will also need a functioning 4 pin trailer connector. If it doesn't already have one, one can be installed using # 118381.
The 3021-P connector you'd looked at is for newer Ram models, and wouldn't fit your current truck.
