Trouble Locating Orange 12 Volt Wire for 7-Way On a Ford Expedition
Question:
This question was asked previously question 22654. I have the same issue trying to find the termination of the orange or possibly black 12V power wire. Do we know if Ben R, who asked the original question, was able to locate the power wire? I also have all of the relays and fuses installed under the hood.

The trailer battery charge circuit on a 1997-2011 Ford Expedition if present, will terminate at a black connector in the rear of the vehicle on the driver side frame rail by the spare tire. I have attached a photo for you of this location which should help you visualize the description a bit more. The trailer battery charge circuit is usually orange but can also be a few other colors so testing is the best method to determine this.
I don't have any info on the success of past inquires but what I can tell you is that if you cannot find the trailer battery charge circuit then this is pretty easy to run yourself and all that will be needed is the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit part # RM-156-75. If you can't find the trailer battery charge circuit then odds are you won't be able to find the brake output circuit therefore I just recommend using the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7 as it comes with both the battery charge line and brake output circuits as well as the needed circuit breakers.
