We have all the parts you need in order to flat tow your 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Elite, and to make it easier for you I'll put them in a list for you.
- Base Plate Kit: Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM9519340
- Tow Bar: Excali-Bar III Non-Binding Tow Bar # DM9511013
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Supplemental Braking System: SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251
OR
If your motorhome has air brakes: SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243
The Demco Tabless Base Plates are going to keep your Cherokee's clean look; as you can see in the accompanying photo of these base plates installed on a Cherokee, they aren't noticeable at all. The Excali-Bar tow bar is the best option because it has long arms which make it easier to maneuver when towing, along with integrated safety cables and an adjustable tilting head so a high-low adapter won't be needed. Having these features come with a tow bar means you won't have to purchase them separately, saving you additional expenses.
I really like the Flexo-Coil wiring kit because it is designed to prevent any type of electrical feedback, keeping your Cherokee's electrical system safe. As for the braking systems, both the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO as well as the SMI Air Force One are strongly recommended because they are a one-time install which will never require any type of removal or reactivation, and because they give you braking proportional to that of your motorhome. This results in much smoother braking than most systems which send out a pre-set amount of braking power, which is far more rigid, With smoother braking comes a smoother, more comfortable and easier-to-control ride when flat towing.
Additionally, I have added links to instruction manuals, video reviews and installations for you to take a look at.
