Trailer Hitch Mount Platform Style Bike Rack for a 2007 Dodge Dakota and For Use Behind a Trailer
Question:
I want to use this product on my 2007 Dodge Dakota with 2inch receiver, I assume this is not an issue. When pulling our 20foot camping trailer I would like to mount it to a 2 inch receiver on the back of our trailer, is this an issue.

You will not have a problem mounting and using the Yakima HoldUp, # Y02443, on your Dakota, but you cannot use it on the back of a trailer. The problem is that only certain bike racks are rated for use behind a trailer, see link. The HoldUp is not rated for the extra bouncing and movement that naturally occurs at the back of a trailer.
What I recommend for a platform rack is the Swagman XTC-2, # S64670. This would be an excellent choice because it can be used behind the trailer and behind the Dakota. It is a platform style rack similar to the HoldUp, and it is more cost effective. I have included some helpful links on this bike rack for you.
