Trailer Locks Up when Brakes are Applied

Your controller has an adjustment to set the amount of power that is initially supplied to the brakes on the trailer. If you have tried adjusting the setting and still have the trailer brakes locking up, then you need to bench test the brake controller. Below I have posted a link to a video on how to test your controller. Using this guide will help to diagnose if the problem is the brake controller or eliminate it if the problem lies elsewhere. Test the brake controller without the trailer hooked up. If you need a circuit tester, you can use one like # PTW2993.
