Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2019 RAM 2500 with Tow Prep Package
Question:
I have a 2019 Ram 3/4 ton truck short bed. It has the landing pads or pucks?? in the bed. For a 15K 5th wheel. Do I need a sliding hitch, what would you recommend?

Unless a truck has the 8 foot bed, it's typically recommended that a sliding hitch be used to prevent the corners of the fifth wheel from contacting the back of the truck cab during turns.
The two fifth wheel hitches we recommend most often are the # DM8550034 Demco Autoslide and the B&W Companion # BWRVK3670. Both hitches are manufactured in the USA, but there's a few differences between them. As far as quality of the product and ride quality go, both hitches are similar. The Demco model will automatically slide rearward as you're turning, which means you won't need to get out of the vehicle to release the slide mechanism. The hitch does all that for you. Really, the only downside is that the hitch is pretty heavy. The B&W hitch has a thicker jaw, which would provide a slightly better ride quality. The hitch also breaks down into two pieces, which makes it a bit easier to install and remove. The hitches are rated at an 18 and 20K capacity, which is a bit more than you need, but some extra unneeded capacity offers a safety cushion and capacity for a larger 5th wheel later on...
I've linked you to some product description videos for each hitch I recommended.
