The best hitch for you is going to depend on how you plan on using it.

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76271 is the best option if your goal is to tow a trailer behind your Forester. This hitch has a towing capacity of 3,500 lbs and 525 max tongue weight.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13409 has an almost identical design as the 76271, but it is not rated for use with weight distribution. This is a good option if you're mainly planning on using the hitch for non-trailer loads like a bike rack or a cargo carrier. One detail that may tip the scale is that the Curt hitch is made right here in the USA, whereas the similar Draw-Tite is not. The Curt hitch also offers a 3,500 lb towing capacity and 525 lb tongue weight rating.

The American made EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7391 is the best option if retaining the factory look of your Forester is the most important to you. While it's priced higher than the rest, it's the only hitch that will be completely hidden behind your rear bumper. The only visible portion is the actual receiver, which is also why its installation is more involved, which is a potential drawback. The EcoHitch is rated to tow up to 3,500 lbs and has a tongue weight rating of 350 lbs.

Unless you already own a class II hitch mounted accessory that uses an 1-1/4 inch shank, the Curt # C12198 or the Draw-Tite # 36671 hitches are not your best option. The selection available for accessories such as bike racks, cargo carriers, ball mounts, adapters, etc. is much more limited for class I and class II hitches (1-1/4 inch). So, to keep your options wide open, your best bet is to go with a class III (2 inch) hitch receiver.

I have attached a photo to show you what the three Class III hitches look like once installed on a 2019 Subaru Forester.
