How to Equip 2019 Toyota Highlander for Towing

I need a hitch and trailer wiring for a 6 x 8 foot utility trailer so I can tow it with my 2019 Highlander.

Expert Reply:
The Curt hitch # C13200 you had looked at is a good choice, unless your Highlander has aluminum wheels, in which case that particular hitch would not be a fit.
For a trailer wiring harness, use part # 118449. As you can see in the provided installation instructions and install video, the harness uses two parts. One piece installs under the dash, the other near the liftgate in the cargo area at the rear of the vehicle. You'll also need a ballmount and a trailer ball, I'd recommend the # D-4 ballmount, Hitch Pin and Clip, # PC3, and the # 19260 trailer ball for a 1-7/8 inch or # 63845 for a 2 inch diameter trailer ball.
