Hub/Drums and Brake Assembly Recommendation for Trailer with 3,500 lb Dexter Axles

Question:

I am trying to determine the appropriate drum and electric brake assembly for 6x12 tandem utility trailer that does not currently have brakes. 15 inch tires and looks like a 5x 4.5 lug pattern. I have attached the axle data in photo. In particular, I am unsure if the drum dimensions needed. Thanx,

Thanks for all of the info and pictures! It makes picking out what you need to add brakes to your trailer for easy.

So the brake assembly part # AKEBRK-35L that you referenced is the correct left hand assembly that will fit the brake flange you have in the picture you submitted. That said, the part # AKEBRK-35L-SA is a self-adjusting version which would be what I would recommend since you'd never have to worry about tightening trailer brakes. For the right side you'd then want the # AKEBRK-35R-SA.

Then for a hub/drum that's the correct size, capacity, and bolt pattern the part # AKHD-545-35-K is your best choice. It even comes pre-greased which saves you a lot of time and mess!
