The Tekonsha Sentinel brake controller does not have a fuse that can be changed if it's display lights are not working; this is one of the older brake controllers which has long been discontinued and if the display lights have gone blank, the controller does need to be replaced. Thankfully, there are really good options which are proportional (which means the controller senses the amount of deceleration and activates your trailer's brakes in proportion to that) and can be had without breaking the bank.
The one I recommend is the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 because it is simple to use and has a nice digital display which lets you know the braking power at all times. I have added a link to a video review of this controller for you to check out.
