Recommendation For Bike Trunk Rack To Fit a 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring Hatchback

I am looking for a trunk bike rack that will hold 1 ladies cruiser and 2 childrens bikes. Mostly short trips. My car is a 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring hatchback. I would like to know the best rack for the best price, leaning more toward inexpensive rather than top of the line. Thank you

I recommend going with a sturder rack that provides anti-sway cradles and strong rubber straps to secure the bike to the rack. The Thule Passage, part # TH911XT is still reasonably priced, but offers upgrades that will help prevent your vehicle or bikes from being damaged.

If you'll be transporting women's bikes or bikes with sharply-angled top tubes, you might also consider a frame adapter bar like part # 64005. The bar spans the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post, which provides a secondary attachment point for the bike rack. This allows the bike to be carried level, which maximizes ground clearance. I'll link you to a video showing how the adapter bar works.
