Troubleshooting Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness for 2016 Nissan Murano that Isn't Working

Question:

husband installed the harness on my car. not working. called to speak to rep. cannot figure out why not working. followed the video that you have online. can it be returned or can someone help. went to car dealer to see about having them install a harness. they want $500..

First thing to check is that the included blue fuse of the # 118660 is installed in the white fuse holder. If that's not plugged in properly or if by chance the fuse is blown that would prevent the entire kit from functioning.

To further troubleshoot it you can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test for voltage on all of the wires leading into the box and the wires leading out of it. If the voltage is on the input side of the box but not the output that would indicate a problem with the box and it would need to be replaced. If the voltage is not on the input side of the box that would indicate the issue is most likely a connection issue on the white connectors and you'd want to verify they are making a solid connection.
