Can Timbren Axle-Less Suspension Be Added to Tandem Axle Trailer To Create a Tri-Axle Trailer
Question:
I have an older gooseneck trailer with dual axles single wheels. I am considering the idea of making it a triaxle. Will the axleless suspension work as a 3rd axle? The existing axles are 7k and were replaced fairly recently.

Due to the fact that a tri-axle trailer will experience a huge amount of tire scrub when negotiating turns, using the Timbren Axle-Less suspension isn't recommended. The lateral force caused by the tires scrubbing would tear the Timbren units right of the trailer frame.
You'll be better off using a standard beam-type axle to add a third axle. We do offer some Dexter axles, if you'd care to reply with the hub face to hub face and the center of spring hanger to center of spring hanger measurements (see provided diagram), I'd be happy to make a recommendation for you.
