The 2002 Audi TT will not be able to use a trunk mounted bike rack. This vehicle does not have a safe place where the lower straps can be mounted. If your Audi TT is a Quattro (all-wheel drive) you can use a hitch like the Curt Class I Hitch, part # 11765, and a bike rack like the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack, part # S63360. The Curt hitch will only fit the Quattro version, it will not fit the front wheel drive version of the Audi TT. I am including links to the installation instrutcions on the Curt hitch and the Swagman bike rack.
Thule does offer the Thule Gateway Pro # TH88VR. This is a similar truck bike rack to the Thule # TH910XT you have referenced.
You can also use a hitch on the Mercedes E320 Wagon and use the same Swagman Trailhead 2 bike rack mentioned above for the Audi TT. The hitch for your Mercedes will be the Curt Class I Hitch, part # 11830. I am including a link to the instructions on the Curt hitch.
If you do use the Curt Class I hitches on your vehicles to carry a bike rack it is required by the manufacturer (Curt), to use the Curt Support Strap, part # 18050. This strap will help secure the bike rack to the hitch.
I am including a link to a FAQ page on hitch bike racks.
