Recommended Non-Vinyl Tonneau Cover for Towing 5th Wheel Trailer with 2016 Ford F-250 Short Bed
Question:
Hi: I have a 2016 F250 short bed crew. I also have a Demco 18K slider. I also plan on installing a moderate sized about 60-80 gallon low profile fuel/toolbox combo tank/toolbox. Questions: What non-vinyl bed cover will cover both the tank/toolbox and hitch and will work so the 5th wheel trailer doesnt hit the truck while towing? Thanks for your answer.

For your 2016 Ford F-250 and specific application I highly recommend the BAK Revolver X4s Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK77ZR. This is an excellent cover that features the durable aluminum construction of a standard hard cover but with the versatility of a soft vinyl unit with its rolling design. This will allow you to maintain a view out of the rear cab window when it's rolled up for towing as opposed to a folding model that would completely obstruct your view when folded up.
The cover's matte black finish gives it a really sleek appearance and when it's closed and the tailgate is shut you can be sure that any stored cargo is secured. When it's completely rolled up it's going to add a tad less than 8 inches in length and height from the cab. Unless you're already cutting it close with clearance this shouldn't be an issue for towing, especially since you are using the sliding Hijacker Hitch # DM8550037.
The cover uses mounting hardware to attach to the inside of the bed rails on your F-250 so you will just want to make sure your toolbox/fuel tank doesn't occupy the needed space.
I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.
