Can 10 Gauge Wire be Used to Create Charge Wire beween Tow Vehicle and Toad

Question:

I want to make my own toad battery charger by running a pair of 10 gauge wires from my motorhome battery + and - to my toad battery + and -. Can I do this without damage to the toad? Do I need some sort of regulator to prevent toad battery being over-charged? If so do you have a recommendation for the regulator.

Using 10 gauge wire to make a charge wire for your toad vehicle is totally fine and actually very cost effective. We sell double bonded 10 gauge wire with part number # 10-2-1 (sold by foot) which would work well for this as the two wires are bonded together.

You would not have to worry about overcharging at all either. The tow vehicle's alternator already has a voltage regulator that will keep the voltage in a healthy range.
