Adding Stability to Bike Rack Carried by 2018 Honda Accord Touring

Question:

Honda Accord 2018 Touring. I purchased a Draw Tite 24972 hitch for my car. Installed hitch and using Thule easy fold xt 2 bike carrier. I can insert the stinger of carrier into the hitch and line up pin. I can insert the stinger a lot deeper 1-1/2 to 2 inches but then there is not a hole for auto pin to engage. Seems much stronger fully inserted but pin needs a hole to lock in place. Has any feedback been generated on this topic

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24972 that fits your 2018 Honda Accord won't have any problem carrying your Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 bike rack, but if you are looking to add more stability you can certainly do so. We have not had any feedback generated on this topic but if you want something that will make you feel like the rack is more stable in your hitch then I highly recommend the Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap for Hitch-Mounted Accessories # 18050. This strap is used by many people for this exact reason and will simply attach from the bike rack to your Accord to enhance stability.
