Using XTRM Universal Sealant to Replace Existing Original XTRM Caulk on Roof  

Question:

I have a pvc roof that was installed with the xtrm 100. Need to reseal it . There new universal caulk is a silicone type Should i stick with the original xtrm 100? and what is the best way to remove the old caulk? Thanks for your reply

I believe you are referring to the XTRM Universal Sealant # 34427034145-1. If so, it can absolutely be used in place of the original XTRM 100 that was on your roof. This will work just as well as the original sealant and its weather-resistant formula will keep it flexible and in good condition for many years.

As far as removing the old caulk/sealant you should be able to get most of it up with a good ol'e fashioned putty knife. As for the stubborn sections that won't budge a really effective option is simple mineral spirits (paint thinner). Then you will just want to make sure the surface is as clean and dry as possible before applying the new sealant.
