Hitch for hauling a 5x8 utility trailer

For towing a 5x8 utility trailer with your 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan I recommend using the Draw-Tite # 75579 because it is the easiest to install and is the least visible once installed (see attached).
To complete your towing setup you also need trailer wiring, a ball mount kit, and possibly a brake controller (if the trailer is going to weigh over 1,000 lbs it's recommended according to your owner's manual).
For wiring I recommend the Curt # C56331 because it is the most reliable option we have. This tees in behind your tail lights and then receives power via the black wire that you route to your battery to power your trailer lights.
I recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900 because it includes two ball mounts, one with a 3/4” rise/2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise/4” drop, a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip. You will want to refer to the attached ball mount article to ensure that this kit is correct for your towing application.
Then for a brake controller I recommend the Curt Echo # C51180 because it doesn't require you to drill into the cab of your van which also means less wiring. To install this you need the Wiring Kit # ETBC7L for a 7-Way connector. You can use the bracket kit # C58000 to mount this next to your hitch receiver.
I have attached some isntallation videos for you to reference as well.
