Will Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch from 2016.5 Mazda CX-5 Fit 2019 Mazda CX-5
Question:
I had previously owned a 2016.5 Mazda CX-5 grand touring and installed a draw-tite 2inch class III hitch. Im looking to use the same hitch for my 2019 CX-5, but Im not sure that it will fit. What are the differences between a 2016.5 CX-5 and a 2019 CX-5 both GTs and will my older hitch fit into the void spaces around the exhaust after removal of the plastic trim piece? Or will I need to purchase an updated 2019 version of the same hitch because something in the rear of the vehicle has changed? To my untrained eye, the hitch bolting locations and exhaust appear to be the same.

I have good news!
There haven't been any significant changes to the rear design of the Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring since your previous 2016.5 model. This means your existing Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch # 76138 will bolt onto your new 2019 CX-5 without issue.
For a new hardware kit you can use part # RHK.
Just like you did on your 2016.5 Mazda CX-5, you will need to remove the additional underbody trim piece that the Grand Touring model is equipped with for installation. I have included an installation video and the complete instructions that you can use for reference as well.
