The Thule Bike Racks, # TH78VR and # TH911XT, and Yakima Bike Racks, # Y02630 and #Y02614, will fit on your 2005 Subaru Legacy Sedan, however they will not fit on your 2008 Honda Pilot.

The trunk mounted bike racks require straps to be secured to the top and bottom of the trunks of the vehicle. There is not a secure place to mount the straps on the rear of your Honda Pilot that will support the weight of the bike rack and bikes.

It is recommended to use hitch mounted bike racks for your Honda Pilot like the Yakima RidgeBack, part # Y02458. We carry the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75599, that will fit on your Honda Pilot and does not require any drilling. I have attached a video of the trailer hitch installation on a 2007 Honda Pilot for you to check out. You could also get a hitch for your 2005 Subaru Legacy Sedan like the Draw-Tite, # 75560, and use the hitch mounted bike rack between your vehicles.
