Re-Wiring Furrion Camera System to Running Lights Circuit
Question:
I read your suggestion about rewiring a fury on observation camera to the running lights as a solution to the camera blinking on and off . How do I find out where the running lights are out so I can tap into it....when I find the source, how do I re-wire to the camera? I am towing with a 2019 Porsche Cayenne with factory tow package and the camera doesn’t seem to be getting a steady 12 volts so the picture blinks on and off never holding a constant view Please help...

The best way to locate the running lights circuit wire on your trailer is to simply use a circuit tester like # PTW2979 on the wiring behind one of the tail light assemblies. When the trailer's hooked up to the vehicle and you have the running lights activated test each of the wires to see which one is carrying power.
Then it's just a matter of running the power wire from the Furrion Camera System # FOS43TASF to this wire using some butt connectors like # DW05743-5. This will make it so the camera will turn on with the running lights on the vehicle.
I have attached the complete installation manual that you can check out as well.
