Is the P.L Error Code On the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Normal

Question:

Will the PL code on a brake controller show up if the brakes are depressed and applied, but the RV isn’t hooked up? I installed the brake controller but have yet to use it with an RV trailer brakes to check yet. Is this normal? If not what should the controller display be showing? Anything? Thanks!

The "P.L." error code on the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 indicates that there is a power interruption while the brake pedal is depressed. This is not normal operation as the screen should show either "n.c." or just "." while the brake pedal is depressed and no trailer is connected.

In order to try and fix the "P.L." error you just simply need to check your ground and power wire connections. It would be a good ideal to reground to a new bare metal surface.
