Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look together at this replacement latch kit for the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series fifth-wheel tailgate. This is going to replace the latches and hardware on your Stromberg Carlson 100 Series fifth-wheel tailgate manufactured from 2015 to the present for your Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks. And this kit is going to work with the VG-100 tailgates, again manufactured from 2015 to the present. Now, if your VG-100 tailgate was manufactured before 2015, this is not the kit that is for you.

Instead, you are going to need the hardware kit that you see there on your screen, identified by the item number that I have there, VG-100-1070. So, that is going to be for the tailgates that are manufactured before 2015. So if you have a tailgate that is manufactured before 2015, that hardware kit that you see there on your screen, that latch kit, that's what you are going to need. And the way that you can tell real easily is that the tailgates manufactured before 2015 have a 3/4 of an inch square tube welded on the end plate near the latches, as you can see there on that picture on the left-hand side. The tailgate in the picture on the right-hand side shows you what the tailgates from 2015 to current look like.

So, hopefully that information's helpful for you and that'll help you determine which kit you are going to need. This kit here does include everything that you see here on my table before me. You're gonna receive the passenger side latch, the driver's side latch, and all the necessary hardware, along with instructions to guide you through that installation process. Now this is the direct replacement from Stromberg Carlson, so what that means for you is you can trust that this is going to fit right in place of your original hardware. Because this is the direct replacement from the manufacturer, you're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues, fitment issues, or anything like that.
