Roof Rack Recommendation for Carrying a Kayak- 2019 Ford Escape with Bare Roof
Question:
Hi, I have a new 2019 Ford Escape and it doesnt have roof rails installed. Can you recommend one that supports the transportation of equipment such as kayak? Thank you!

I'd highly recommend an Inno rack system for your vehicle. Inno provides a super-high quality product without the higher price tag seen with other brands that might be more universally well known. High value and top quality.
Given the fact that you expressed an interest in transporting a kayak, using a through-bar system makes it easier for one person to get the kayak up on the vehicle roof. Pick up one end, place against the crossbar where it extends past the roof rack foot, then you can lift up the other end and slide it into place on the roof.
For a through-bar system, you have the choice of crossbars with a rectangular or an elliptical Aero style shape. The Aero shape is more expensive but you'll experience considerably less wind noise by going that route.
An aero bar system can be assembled using the following:
57 inch long Aero style crossbars, part # INXB145-2
Inno Through Feet, part # INXS250
Custom, vehicle specific Fit Kit, part # INK628
The more economical but noisier square bar kit could be constructed using these parts:
54 inch square bars, part # INB137
Square crossbar feet, part # INSUT
Fit Kit # INK628
For carrying your kayak, Inno makes a very versatile water sport carrier, part # INXA445. This carrier can handle one kayak or two stand up paddleboards, windsurf boards or surfboards.
Snowsport, cargo and bike carrying solutions are available as well, and can be seen by using the provided links.
