Does Curt Hitch for 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Require Stabilizer Strap Still

Hello Etrailer, I purchased the Curt hitch for my 2019 Santa Fe. This is a heavy duty high quality piece of equipment. I installed the hitch with a helper using ramps to elevate the auto. I used a rolling creeper to get underneath for attachment which if more difficult than using a lift. All went well except for a bumper guide pin on the passenger side that prevented the hitch from sitting properly. Took me, a novice many attempts to finally spot the problem. It appears that the passenger side has to be lined up first to get around that pin. If I am correct your instructional video may need to be updated. Next point, where is the stabilizer strap hook attached to the vehicle ? The 2019 Santa Fe has a plastic spoiler at the top of the rear hatch.

The great new is the Curt no longer requires the use of the stabilizer straps anymore with the use of non-supported accessories in their hitches.

Hitch installs can be a bit tricky and sometimes a simple trick like what you came up with makes all the difference in allowing it to install. I am sorry to hear you had difficulty with yours but we appreciate you passing on what worked well for you. I am sharing this on our site so maybe it will help future customers.
