Should Hook of Curt Pintle Combo Adapter Clamp Down on Ball Coupler
Question:
Should I be able to lock the pintle arm down over the top of an attached ball mount hitch? Seems like that would provide some security to prevent a ball mounted hitch from coming off during transport.

You do not want to pull the pintle hook of the Curt Pintle Hook part # C45910-15-20 down onto the coupler. It would be too tight to the top of the coupler and would not let it pivot like it needs to and that's not what it was designed for. It should only be used on a lunette ring application. A properly sized coupler in good shape would have no problem staying attached to the ball of this.
I attached a review video for this for you to check out as well.
