I am happy to help you setup your vehicle to tow a trailer with brakes however the Draw-Tite Activator Trailer Brake Controller # 5100 is only the brake controller to power the brakes on your trailer. The 2002 Cadillac Escalade will still need a 7-way plug on the vehicle to connect to the trailer. If the Cadillac has a factory package, you can use Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package part # C55774 to plug right into the factory towing harness.

If the Cadillac Escalade did not come with a 7-way factory package then you most likely do not have a 4-pole flat yet, so you would want to install the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C59236 first to get a 4-pole flat. After you have the 4-pole flat you can use part # ETBC7 that comes with the wiring, 7-way plug, bracket and circuit breakers needed to wire in the 7-way plug. I have attached installation instructions for your reference.

The brake controller will have an adapter part # 3025-P with the Draw-Tite Activator to plug into a factory tow port under the dash. However, I recommend to use a proportional controller like Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller part # 39510 because it provides much smoother braking compared to the time-delayed controller like the Draw-Tite Activator. The Tekonsha Voyager will brake the trailer brakes in proportion with the vehicle brakes instead of there being a delay which can cause chucking and an uncomfortable ride. You can use the same 3025-P adapter with the Voyager.
