Longer Ball Mount Recommendation with Drop As Near to 1 inch As Possible
Question:
Hi After checking my trailer for level and receiver height with various pressures in my Firestone 1000 air bags from Etrailer I have decided a 1inch drop would be perfect. I do not see a draw bar for 10K lbs. although I am only towing about 6K listed with that . Would I be better going nose down with 2inch drop or nose up with zero ? Im looking at the Brophy BM20 since that long ball mount would let me my tailgate while hitched up but it is a 2inch . my trailer is a dual axle (Lance) travel trailer. Thanks

If you can't get the exact figure for the rise/drop you need the best solution is (if available) to go slightly higher in rise so that once the vehicle suspension is compressed slightly from the tongue weight it settles into being right at totally level. But if you can get much closer with a bit more drop than needed I would go that route over considerably too much rise as that will potentially add sway to the setup.
But in your situation where you want 1 inch of drop from a longer ball mount the best solution is the # BM20 that you mentioned as this has 2 inches of drop and is the closest we can get you to what you mentioned. This has a distance of 13-1/4 inches from the hitch pin hole to the ball hole too.
