Question:
Do you have info for Installation instructions for the hitch on 2012 Volt? Any thoughts on pros and cons of the 3 hitches you offer? THX

We do have installation instructions for the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7186 and I have sent them to you in a separate email.
As you mentioned in your question, there are 3 trailer hitches available for your 2012 Chevy Volt and they are all quite a bit different from each other. Even though it does require the longest installation process I really like the completely hidden design of the EcoHitch # 306-X7186 that you referenced. The 2 inch receiver actually installs behind the license plate so when you aren't towing or using it for a hitch-mounted accessory, the license plate completely covers it so nobody could even guess that you have a hitch installed.
Not only does this maintain the factory appearance of your Volt but it also allows for better ground clearance compared to the other two options that will drop below the rear bumper. On a vehicle like yours that already sits lower to the ground this is a feature you will learn to love when you're able to back out of steep driveways or go over speed bumps without a worry.
The next best option is with the EcoHitch # 306-X7180 that still offers a hidden appearance after removing the receiver but it does cut into the ground clearance since it sits below the bumper.
