Question:
I have a 15' Chevy 2500hd crewcab shortbed duramax.. Im thinking of purchasing a Iconic 3316MC by Attitude. Its approximately 43.5 ft long and the dry wt. Is 13,500 lbs. Would like to what Is the best hitch for the lowest price. I would like to use a gooseneck set-up but would use the bed rail style if necessary. I prefer the ball method to keep my bed flat without the rails. This is my first 5th wheel as I have had tow behinds in the past. I would also want one that is a worry free of hitting the bed or cab of my truck while turning or backing up in tight places. I will also be pulling it on dirt roads so I am also Looking for the smoothest and quietest riding hitch possible. Please help l need to decide in 3 days. Theres so many to choose from which makes very confusing. Thanks

There are definitely a lot of options for fifth wheel solutions for your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 short bed but based on you wanting something that's quiet and smooth plus gives you an empty truck bed when not towing the best option is the B and W Companion hitch setup. This requires you install the Turnoverball rail kit part # BWGNRK1012 in the bed of your truck and then for a hitch the Slider Companion part # BWRVK3400.
This is not the lowest cost option out there, but if you need a smooth ride quality and an empty bed when not towing, PLUS have turning clearance since you have a short bed there isn't a better option. Using a fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter won't work well as there isn't a way to have the clearance needed.
To install a 7-way in the bed of the truck then a # 41157 would be what you'd need to make the trailer wiring connection easier to make.
