Troubleshooting PL Error Code on Tekonsha Primus IQ TK90160

i have a primus iq controller and i get a PL read out when connected to trailer?

The PL code of the Tekonsha Primus IQ part # TK90160 that you have indicates that the red wire receives power before the black wire. You'll want to start off by making sure you have the pigtail connected to the following functions on your vehicle:
Blue - 7-Way Output to Trailer
Black - 12V Power
White - Ground
Red - COLD Side of Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake pedal is pressed)
If everything is installed correctly then I would try testing the red and black wires at the same time. The black should have constant power while the red should only have power with your brake pedal pressed.
