Will Installing the Draw-Tite Class I Trailer Hitch on a 2008 Honda Fit Void the Vehicle Warranty
Question:
Will installing this hitch void my warranty?

Expert Reply:
Installing the Draw-Tite Class I trailer hitch, # 24776, on your 2008 Honda Fit should not void the vehicle warranty, as long as it is not determined that the hitch itself caused the issue you are taking the vehicle in for service for.
Your warranty is protected by the Federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act, which states in part that unless the modification to your vehicle caused the problem your warranty must be honored. This being said you will need to use common sense precautions when using this or any other aftermarket product on your vehicle.
I suggest that you consult your vehicle owners manual for information related to towing or carrying items at the rear of your Fit.
To complete a towing setup for you 2008 Fit, you will need trailer Wiring, # 118420, and a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball, # 19256, or 2 inch hitch ball, # 19258.
If you will be carrying bikes, a 2 bike rack is recommended. Most of our customers that purchase bike racks for their Honda Fit purchase the Swagman XTC-2 bike rack, # S64670.
