Is Programmer Difficult to Install on 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Question:
I know absolutely nothing about adding a performance chip except where my OBD port is located. What do I need to do besides purchase the chip? Is it truly plug-and-play or do I need a mechanic to install and provide engine tuning after installation of the performance chip? Do I also need to buy a monitor, like the Insight CS2? Where if any place on the internet can I try to educate myself on this subject? Thanks in advance for your help.

Programmers are truly plug and play in that all you need to do is plug them in to your OBDII port and the let the programmer guide you through the install process. No mechanic would be needed at all. An Insight like the CS2 part # EP84030 that you referenced is not required either. It could be used with a programmer that didn't come with any monitoring type displays but definitely not needed.
That said we do not have any programmers for your 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser that will give you additional power. The Insight you mentioned is a confirmed fit and will allow you to view various parameters of the engine when driving but you would not get any additional power. We have a cold air intake for your vehicle though with the Airaid part # AR511-301 which will give you gain you about 15 horsepower or so.
