How to Raise Height of Trailer

There are a couple of ways to raise the height of a trailer frame.
For most the easiest and least costly method for doing this is to install what we call an axle over-under kit. Such a kit is simply new axle mounting hardware that allows the axle and spring positions to be reversed, moving the axle underneath the leaf springs, as shown in the linked photo. This change of axle and spring positions will give the entire trailer a height lift equal to the axle's diameter PLUS the height of the leaf spring stack.
We have two such over-under kits, part # K71-384-00 for 2-3/8-inch diameter axles and part # K71-385-00 for 3-inch diameter axles. If you have a 2-3/8-inch axle and your leaf spring stacks are 2-inches tall then installing kit # K71-384-00 will give you a total height gain of 4-3/8-inches. This height gain requires no other parts, just the over-under kit.
There are other ways to raise a trailer's height but none will give you as much height increase as easily or at as low a cost as an over-under kit. New taller spring hangers require welding and larger tires will never be able to give you the same height gain as an over-under kit.
