Length of Mounting Bracket for Mounting Curt Trailer Hitch to Motorhome on 2005 Ford E-350 Chassis
Question:
On attached pic, how long is this bracket indicated in red? I have an E350 based 2005 Motorhome but the frame was extended to fit the fiberglass body length. No hitch place will put one on because most hitch brackets will mount past where they welded on the extension. Unless I find a long enough bracket, I will have to have a welder put on a bar above and below the joint and then mount the hitch to the new steel bar. Maybe this is long enough to do it but I doubt it.

The length of the mounting brackets for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 14053 is 15-1/8" as you can see from the attached photo.
Since the frame is extended past the regular body length it could very well affect the towing capacity of your motorhome so it would be wise to do some research on that and maybe reach out to the manufacturer as well to get their take on it.
If you don't have bolt holes readily available that would work with the 14053 hitch then you may consider using something like the Curt # C13704 which is a bolt or well on application compatible with box frame, C-channel frame, or I-beam frames that are 22" - 66" wide. I have attached a review video and the installation instructions for this hitch that you can check out.
