Bike Rack Solutions for Carrying 1998 Gary Fisher Joshua Z0

Question:

Hi there, I have a Class I 1.25inch hitch on my 2005 Saab 92x its a rebranded 2005 Subaru Impreza, for what its worth. The #SA4412F seems to be an excellent rack for what Im looking for however my only concern is I ride a 1998 Gary Fisher Joshua Z0 bike which has the older Y-frame design which lacks the normal top-tube and down-tube. I will attach a photo of what the bike frame looks like. Id like to be reasonably confident that the bike will be compatible with the rack before purchasing. Thanks for your help!

Expert Reply:

To carry a bike like your 1998 Gary Fisher Joshua Z0 mountain bike with the full suspension and Y-frame, your best choice is the Thule T2 Classic 2 Bike Platform Rack, part # TH9045. This rack is compatible with your Class I hitch and because it uses ratcheting arms to grip your bikes' front wheels, there's absolutely no frame contact. This bike rack also tilts down for easy access to your cargo area and it folds up for storage. It includes a hitch lock to protect your investment as well.
