Availability of a Trailer Hitch that Will Fit a 2011 Dodge Durango with an 18 Inch Spare Tire
Question:
I would like to know if this has been tested and found to fit with a 2011 Dodge Durango with the 18 inch spare tire? I previously ordered a Curt Manufacturing HItch for the 2011 Dodge Durango, and it did NOT fit with the 18 inch spare tire, and I had to return it. When I contacted the company, they said it was originally designed and built for a Durango with a space-saver spare tire. I would like to order one of your hitches, but want to make absolutely sure it will fit, so I dont have to return another one. Thank you for your help.

I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch. He stated that the Hidden Hitch # 87608 (no longer available), and the Draw-Tite, # 75713 will both fit with the full size spare (18 inch spare. If you look at the instructions that I have linked for you, you will see that the hitch fits around the spare tire well under the vehicle.
If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the etrailer ball mount kit, # 989900, which comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin and clip, and a carrying bag.
For trailer wiring, if the 2011 Durango does not have a tow package, use # 118552. If it does, you can convert to a 4-Way using # 118384. I have included links to the installation details for the wiring as well.
